Who is your teacher?

I am a university graduate and I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language. I have 17 years of English teaching experience and 7 years of online teaching experience. Whatever your English objectives, I can provide you with the help you need.

What equipment do I need to study online?

1 Skype
You will need Skype installed on your computer so we can talk in the lessons.

2 A headset microphone
You will get the possible quality audio in your lessons if you use a headset microphone.

3 A stable Internet connection
You will need a broadband Internet connection which is stable and reliable.

Can I get a demonstration?

I can offer you a free 15-minute online demonstration on Skype so you can see how my system works. In the demonstration, you will learn how you can join an online lesson with me. You can also ask me any questions you have about my teaching system.

How can I buy lessons and what do they cost?

You can buy your online lessons through my website using your credit card on Paypal. Visit the prices page to see the cost of my lessons or visit the buy lessons page to buy your English lessons.

For students there are three options: General English (£25 per lesson), Exam English (£30 per lesson) and English for Kids (£35). For teachers, there is one option: Teacher Training (£40 per lesson).

How many students are in a lesson?

When you study with me, you study one-to-one. This means you can learn more effectively than in the classroom because I design your lessons specifically for you.

Studying one-to-one means you have the chance to practise and speak more in a lesson and that you get individual feedback on everything you say in the class.

What system do you use to teach online?

To teach online I use Citrix Go To Meeting software so my students can see their lesson from my computer in real time. This means that I can present a lesson exactly like in a classroom with a whiteboard and space to make notes and give feedback in the lesson.

Before we start a lesson, I will send you a link to your log-in page and give you an ID number for the lesson. In just a few seconds, you will be in a meeting with me and seeing all your lesson materials and activities on your computer.

What can I study?

Whatever your learning objectives, I will give you the lessons you need. I am completely flexible in my teaching so if you explain to me exactly what you want to achieve, I will always adapt to that. If you are looking for a particular kind of lesson, I offer lessons in the areas you see below.

When can I study?

You can study from 9am to 7pm UK time (GMT). After your demonstration, if you want to start lessons with me we will book the first lesson and I will add it to my online calendar. Then after each lesson we will arrange the time for the next class.

If you need to change a lesson time I can be flexible about that. However, if you cancel a lesson on the same day as the scheduled class than you will lose that lesson from your lesson total. Please read terms and conditions for more information.

Will studying English online work for me?

What is your teaching methodology or teaching style?

I believe that language learning should be a social activity and that we learn best when we interact with real human beings. If we can interact naturally and without experiencing too much stress, then this helps us learn more easily and more quickly.

In my lessons, I make sure my English learners use their language as much as possible in class and I always try to find interesting topics for each person. I offer lots of feedback and ideas to the learner to help them build their language skills.

How are your lessons different to other teachers?

I am a full-time online English teacher which means I have spent more time developing my approach to online teaching than most other online teachers. The system I use has been carefully designed over six years of development.

I believe that many teachers have a dry, formal and boring style of teaching which makes it difficult for students to learn. I like to think my approach is based on dynamic communication about real subjects that students care about.
